The people who surround you will influence your behaviour and results. They will shape who we are. They determine what conversations dominate your attention. They affect to which behaviours you are regularly exposed to. Eventually you will start to think like how they think and behave like how they behave.

So choose your community wisely.

If you spend most of your time with 5 wise people, you will probably be the 6th.

If you spend most of your time with 5 healthy people, you will most probably be the 6th.

If you spend most of your time with 5 lazy people, you will most probably be the 6th.

This is not a rocket science, there are obvious truths and logic in it.

Here is one of the many stories in our community that brings out 3M in life (Mentor, Mentee, Mate). 3M is one of the key philosophy that 10XCEOs embrace and encourage all members to practise in order to have a constant breakthrough in business and life.

Having a mentor raises our standards, increases our exposure and keeps us humble.

Having a mentee makes us generous in sharing our knowledge and wisdom.

Having peers and mates keep us accountable and motivated.

Case Study:

A great demonstration of the power of mentorship and the average of five rule.

[Excerpt from a post from Joescher Chee, 10XCEOs’ Founder & CEOs; Facebook Post]

First time sharing the same stage of sharing business and life to a group of young entrepreneurs and working adults with one of my most unique mentee, Lim Soon Yik. He is unique because he is one of the very few if not the only mentee that four of us, Adrian Swea, Dato’ CC Ngei, Chiau Haw Choon and myself crossover to mentor.

Seeing his journey of growth in entrepreneurship and leadership in the past four years have given us tremendous joy and fulfilment, knowing that the next generation of business leaders are rising up, they are the future movers and shakers of the industry.

Transforming traditional family business to a journey of corporatisation with innovative business model and running a 9-figure business at the age of 26 require tremendous leadership, courage and skills. Hence, I am looking forward to witness more next generation business leaders to rise and shine!
